Help us and our friends (New England Mountain Bike Association) adjust the TBV Magenta Trail away from a vernal pool and mitigate eroding sections of old unsustainable trail.
No experience necessary, labor intensive!
Magenta Trail 2 projects being worked on this April.
(1) Reroute the northern intersection with Blue Trail off of the fall line and away from the vernal pools, and remediate old/closed sections of fall line trail with check dams and some soil backing behind the check dams.
(2) Armor with rock and realign southern end of trail below Orchard as well as improve drainage through small knicks and de-berming where needed along the fence line.
The group will be meeting at 8:45am at the Parking Lot off of Freeborn by Elm Drive (Map). We'll work until about 11:45 am and return to the parking lot around 12 noon. Volunteers should expect rock work for these sessions, so strong backs are recommended! We recommend proper work gloves, sturdy shoes, clothes you don’t mind getting dirty, water to drink, and bug spray of your preference.
There will be a New England Mountain Bike Association Trail Work Waiver to be signed.
