Southport Garden Stroll - Pequot Library

Featuring Aspetuck Land Trust’s newly redesigned native Wildflower Preserve and several of Southport’s finest private gardens this self-guided walking tour starts in the heart of Southport Village at Pequot Library. Pick up your garden card and map, then walk your way through a floral adventure in a classic New England neighborhood starting at Aspetuck’s Wildflower Preserve across the street from the Library entrance.

The Wildflower Preserve was recently redesigned by Debra De Vries-Dalton of Land Canvas who will be on hand to give 15-minute tours of the newly designed garden on the hour from 10 am to 2 pm. This new native landscape is part of Aspetuck Land Trust’s Green Corridor initiative to inspire homeowners to create more biodiversity in their yards by planting native plants.

Local garden enthusiasts will guide you through the most notable features of these bountiful landscapes. This year’s self-paced Garden Stroll through idyllic Southport Village features more than 10 of the community’s most picturesque gardens, including beds featured in Town & CountryFairfield Living, and Fairfield Magazine, and two of which have been recognized by the Archives of American Gardens at the Smithsonian Institution.
