The Miyawaki Method: Microforests in the Age of Climate Change
Join Micro-Forest creator Maya Dutta to learn about this unique method for reforestation using micro-forest design that was created by Japanese botanist Dr. Akira Miyawaki in the 1980's and how they can build communal and climate resilience.
FYI...Aspetuck Land Trust has just completed our first series of Miyawaki Forests in Bridgeport, but our work was inspired by the first micro-forest in the northeast, spearheaded by Maya in the City of Cambridge MA in 2021. As she says these are "Tiny Forests with a Big Impact"!
