Spring Ephemerals Wildflower Walk with Anthony Zemba

  • Trout Brook Valley Bradley Road Parking Area weston, CT USA (map)

Join Anthony Zemba of Fitzgerald and Halliday, Inc. for an afternoon wildflower walk at Trout Brook Valley Preserve. Anthony, a Certified Ecologist, will be searching for “spring ephemerals” – a group of wildflowers that only bloom early in the growing season before the overhead canopy of trees and shrubs leaf out.  In addition to wildflower identification, Anthony will talk about the ecological role that these curious plants play in forest ecology.

CDC Guidelines will be followed, and masks will be worn as appropriate. If you are able to attend please register, the form is below. Include the number of people that you think will be attending, if the hike reaches capacity you will be contacted.

Dress for a moderate hike on forest trails (including sturdy shoes/hiking boots) and protect yourself from deer ticks which are sure to be present at this time of year. Don’t forget your mask! Please RSVP so that we may contact you in the event of a reschedule due to weather conditions.

Location: Trout Brook Valley Preserve, Bradley Road Entrance (Map).
Parking: Follow Valley Forge Road north to its junction with Lyons Plain Road, or south from its junction with Newtown Turnpike. Turn onto Bradley Road and follow to the end. The gate will be open and you will be directed to the Permit Parking area.
