Aspetuck Land Trust was awarded an additional $5,000 grant from Newman’s Own Foundation in 2019, for a total of $30,000. The independent foundation was created by the late actor and philanthropist Paul Newman who was instrumental in preserving Trout Brook Valley. Paul Newman made a difference and this grant reminds us how important individual supporters are to Aspetuck Land Trust’s efforts to preserve local open space. We can all be philanthropists by giving our time, treasure and talent to causes that we believe in. Paul Newman, his daughter Liss Newman and the Newman’s Own Foundation have been long-time supporters of Aspetuck Land Trust with more than $1 million in donations since 1999.
