Southport Beach Preserve

About Southport Beach Preserve

Preserved in 2015 with support from Southport Conservancy and the Burton Family, this 0.7 acre property was purchased by Aspetuck Land Trust to preserve the character of Southport and prevent development on Pequot Avenue across from Southport Beach. We have removed invasive plants and replanted the property with salt tolerant coastal native plants to support migratory birds and other wildlife. The conservation of this property preserved the open and airy quality of the beach area. Since it is so small there is no public access or parking. Just wonderful views of the native flowers and sea grass plantings.
